Dear parishioners and friends of St. Andrew’s Church in Tsawwassen,

Please find attached our carol sheet prepared for our Community Carol singing event on Saturday 3rd Dec. Event takes place from 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. under the glass roof by RONA at the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre. We welcome all those who would sing with us either on stage or around the stage. There will be a practice this Sunday (27th Nov) after Holy Communion with a lunch provided.

You can see that all our carols are traditional Christian songs of salvation and hope. This is a great opportunity to share your faith in Christ with others in the community. Bring friends and relatives – everyone likes to sing Carols!

This Sunday also marks the beginning or our advent teaching and worship series that includes four meditations on the heart, a Candle-lit Christmas eve service at 9.00pm on Dec 24th, and the vision for our year ahead on January 6th at 9.00am.

Duties-Play keyboard or guitar music for Communion services, Sundays at 9 A.M., at the Longhouse Tsawwassen, 1710 56 St., Delta. Each Sunday there are six pieces from preselected Traditional and Modern sources. New music and changes are encouraged with consultation. Christian reflection music is played for 10 minutes prior to each service. The style of playing should encourage congregational participation.

We plan to develop a Praise Team from among the musical talents in our growing congregation. The Music Leader will help lead practices and work co-operatively with the Praise Team leaders. Ideally, the successful applicant will have a ready familiarity with Christian music and see this role as valuable Christ–centered ministry within this Evangelical Anglican Liturgical parish.

Salary-$300 per month for the period from May 13th to October 14th. (5 months)

AN INVITATION TO

SUMMIT ON THE DELTA

3rd March 2012

Dear friend of youth and young families of South Delta,

No–one doubts the considerable challenge in making the transition from the fragile and conflicting experiences of young adulthood (in less than a dozen years) to a life of confident and fulfilling maturity. Not even the most highly adapted and integrated families imagine we can overcome this challenge without the support of a strong fellowship, committed to the right goals, and to preparing people for the journey. But only one organization on Earth retains the mandate to unconditionally tell the truth about the challenges facing our young people, to honestly encourage parents and young men and women through their trials, and to celebrate their successes without the expectation of a reward. As the hands and feet of Christ on Earth, only the Church is truly called to care for the future of His children.

Let’s be clear: our Universities, Schools and Government organizations, are suffering unrelenting pressures from corporations, either to directly sell their products to those in their care, or, at minimum, to adapt curriculum and services to work with their hopes for profit; they are also under pressure from governments, to submerge ethical, moral and religious differences under a blanket of political openness; and, they are under pressure from Atheist organizations lobbying for un–Godly life–styles. The sad truth in 2012 is that, our public organizations cannot legally offer the whole truth to our children.

St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Delta is sponsoring Summit on the Delta - an exceptional opportunity to share our thoughts, prayers and hopes for “young people ministry” in our community in a Christ–centered and worshipful setting where we seek to understand God’s will; How are we praying the Lord will bring the great Christian values to serve a new generation of young families? How will our Lord continue to regenerate those things we love: the Arts, our work lives and our Sportsmanship to His glory? How will we pass on the strength, freedom and dignity of our faith, to a new generation of believers? If these questions interest you, then we want you to come to the Longhouse on Saturday March 3rd from 7.00 – 9.00 pm; we shall sing to the Lord, drink coffee with friends and share in each others thoughts.

At St. Andrew’s we feel called to serve young people well and we believe we need to hear from you in a healthy discussion about how each of us are praying that our Lord will fulfill this mandate in South Delta. Therefore I urge you please, if you can possibly find time in your busy schedule, come and share your hopes and dreams for our youth and young families at Summit on the Delta. You will find a warm and gracious welcome and your thoughts will be treated with the utmost respect. I look forward to meeting with you personally. The Healing Gifts of God's Kingdom

This healing workshop covers ways of praying for the healing of past hurts, for yourself and others, through teaching and practical opportunities. God‚s grace and mercy heals us in body, mind and spirit. Through the ministry of Inner Healing, Jesus brings healing, forgiveness and peace to past hurts and helps us move forward on the path to wholeness.

Presenters Marie Payton, Susan Rivers and Anne Thomas have been involved in the healing ministry both through workshops and with individuals for nearly 30 years.
